The Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague (ICT) provides accommodation for students arriving for SOCRATES/ERASMUS programmes in its halls of residence, the so-called Jižní Město - Chodov Halls of Residence, within its available capacity. ICT student halls consist of two buildings called Volha and Sázava.
Students apply for the accommodation in these residences via the "Application for Accommodation" form.
The capacity of accommodation provided by the ICT is limited and accommodation can be guaranteed only for those students who send their applications by the set closing dates. Dead-lines for the receipt of applications for studies at the ICT are:
The Department of International Relations cannot guarantee accommodation or the required study programme to those students whose application will be received after the above dates!
The Jižní Město - Chodov Halls of Residence are within easy reach of the
Institute of Chemical Technology at Dejvice by metro. City buses no. 177 and 197,
which stop right in front of the halls of residence, will take you to the Chodov
metro station (about three bus stops). The C-line will take you to the Museum station
in the centre of Prague. There, you will change to the A-line which will take you to the
Dejvická station close to the ICT. Night bus 511 will take you from halls of residence
to the centre of Prague - Museum station.
Students are accommodated in double-bedded or triple-bedded rooms. Two neighbouring rooms share a bathroom, a toilet and a small corridor with fridge. They are equipped with basic furniture and bedclothes. There is a connection to the computer network of ICT Prague and the Internet and a public phone line (by an application). There are two kitchens on each floor but they are not equipped with dishes, only with a cooker. On each floor there are two washing machines. It is free to use them but you have to book it in advance (see more in the DURING section).
All rooms at Volha are after reconstruction as you can see on the pictures, but not all Sázava rooms. Then you can expect different price if you would live in an old room.
The accommodation in the Institute's halls of residence costs from CZK 88 per day for one person in a double-bedded room.
The rent for accommodation in student rooms is payable in cash or with a credit card in the box office at Sázava by the end of each month. It is also possible to pay the rent for several months in advance or for the whole stay.
The residential complex comprises a student canteen at Volha building which is open all day long and a number of sport facilities such as outdoor tennis courts, football, basketball and softball grounds, a fitness room at Sázava and several student clubs and restaurants where you can get meals with reasonable prices.
All students are obliged to pay a returnable cash deposit of 3000 CZK while checking in. The deposit will be returned after the termination of the accommodation contract if the room is in order. You can also buy a cable for the Internet connection if you don't have your own (a 3 m cable for 50 CZK, a 7 m cable or 100 CZK) at the Accomodation office.
It is allowed having animals in the residences but your room mates have to agree with this! You have to bring a paper with signatures of all your room mates to Mrs. Schejbalová (Volha) or Mrs. Kalinová (Sázava).
